It has always been our aim to become fully self sufficient at Angel Caves, and although we certainly aren’t there yet we are taking measures to get there in the future. We started our vegetable patch in 2020, at the start of the pandemic and over the years it has provided us with more food that we have learnt how to preserve and store to share with our guests over the following months.
Eating food grown in our own eco-farm has numerous benefits for both ourselves and the environment. Firstly, it promotes sustainability by reducing our carbon footprint and mitigating the effects of climate change. Locally sourced food creates less transportation emissions and chemical fertilisers and pesticides are not used. Secondly, it enhances food quality and nutrition. Freshly harvested fruits and vegetables contain more nutrients than those that have been transported long distances to supermarkets. Thirdly, it promotes a healthier lifestyle. Eco-farming involves physical activity and time outside, which helps to reduce our stress levels (necessary with two young kids!) and improve our overall mental health. Finally, and most importantly we love what we do. It’s so rewarding to plant and grow your own produce and then turn it into delicious meals that can be enjoyed by family, friends and guests, and it saves money too!

Description
Traditionally served as a light meal in the afternoon, the British afternoon tea originated around 1840 as a delicious way to curb ones hunger when dinner time was still several hours away! We invite you to come and enjoy this afternoon tradition on our sunny terrace overlooking the mountains, where you will be served a selection of sandwiches, scones, pastries and cakes, with a pot of tea to wash it all down!
If you're celebrating a special occasion or just feel like treating yourself you can upgrade your afternoon tea package to include a bottle of bubbly for you and your friends to enjoy whilst taking in the stunning views over the mountains.
(Please bear in mind that as our home is built into the mountainside there is a long flight of uneven steps up to the property. We regret that this may be difficult for the elderly or those with mobility issues, we hope to work on the access in the future.)
