Fruit Picking & Jam Making
When we arrived at the cave house on July 2019 the trees were already bursting with fruits and it was impossible to eat it all. I had never made jam before but I found some recipes online and gave it a try. I spent most of our first summer collecting fruit and turning it into jam and chutney and this will be an ongoing job here over the summer months.
Planting and Maintaining an Allotment
It is our hope to eventually become more or less self sufficient here at Angel Caves and we have reduced the size of our vineyard to make room for a sizeable vegetablepatch. We are in the early stages of planting and learning about the land and the climate, but with the weather in the mountains being mainly warm with a little rain here and there we are certain we’ll be picking bumper crops in no time!
Building Works & Renovation
An ongoing project at Angel Caves is to renovate the outbuildings into useable spaces, for workshops, guest rooms and a greenhouse and to tidy up some of the existing building work to turn it into our family home.
